Acrylics
Fabricast is a leading stockholder and authorised distributor of Altuglas® Acrylics in all
popular cast and extruded forms. Subject to minimum order, exacting corporate identity
colours and non-standard thicknesses can be supplied.
Standard acrylic sheet products:- |

Altuglas® CN Cast Acrylic
Excellent UV light resistance. Mechanical properties and transparancy retained over
long lifespan. CN Clear transmits more light than normal glass and as much as crystal
glass. Coloured cast retains initial appearance and does not lose translucency
Dimensional Tolerances - Standard sizes: -0mm +10mm
Cut sizes - ± 1mm/linear metre with minimum tolerance ± 1mm
Blocks - Blocks to 300 mm thick manufactured as standard, Thicker than 90 mm comes
finished “as cast” with guaranteed nominal thickness
Cut Sections - min width 200 mm - cutting tolerance 0 + 10mm
Colour Specifications - formula - Colour and light transmission of type “S” products are
independent of thickness. Type “T” products are produced from sheets of reference thickness
and light transmission. Colour therefore depends on thickness. PMMA is naturally transparent
and even with higher filler contents, is never considered opaque. Slight batch colour
differences may occur due to pigment variations. Whilst pigment manufacturers do not
guarantee stability, this normally level 7 on blue scale defined by ISO 105
Weights - CN specific gravity is around 1.19. To calculate sheet weight, multiply square
metre area by mms thickness and then by specific gravity Weight (in kg) = area (sq mtrs) x
thickness (mm) x 1.19

Altuglas® EX Extruded Acrylic
Extruded from polymethylmethacrylate, then calendared to ensure extremely close
thickness tolerances. Remarkable thermoforming properties.
Dimensional Tolerances - Standard sizes or production cut sizes:- 0mm + 10mm
Standard extruded sheets, less than 2mm thick, may be supplied with an “as extruded”
edge. Cut sizes ± 1mm/linear metre with a minimum tolerance of ± 1mm
For special tolerances, please contact Fabricast
Colour Specifications - Colour, shade and light transmission matched to standard
thickness references of sheets and will vary according to sheet thickness
Weights - EX specific gravity is 1.19
To calculate sheet weight, multiply square metre area by mms thickness and then by
specific gravity. Weight (in kg) = area (sq Mtrs) x thickness (mm) x specific gravity
Storage - If the product is to be stored, seal the pallet to avoid moisture absorbtion
Guarantee - EX sheet of any thickness retains virtually all characteristics after 10 years
external exposure. The product guarantee covers light transmission, rigidity and tensile
strength. Full guarantee details from our Technical Support Team |

Altuglas® CI High Impact Cast Acrylic
High resistance to impact and solvents, good weathering characteristics and excellent
light transmission over a wide temperature range.
Range consists of two product types:- Interpenetrated PMMA/elastomer network and
CI CH 30 PMMA elastomer network
Dimensional Tolerances - Standard sizes: -0mm +10mm
Cut sizes - ± 1mm/linear metre with minimum tolerance ± 1mm
Colours - CI - Clear only
CI CH 30 - full range of on-demand colours, specials to min order
Slight colour differences may occur between batches due to inherent pigment variations
Weights - CI CH 100 and CH 160 specific gravity is around 1.16 and CI CH 30 is around
1.18. To calculate sheet weight, multiply square metre area by mms thickness and then by specific gravity. Weight (in kg) = area (sq Mtrs) x thickness (mm) x 1.16 |

Altuglas® EI High Impact Extruded Acrylic
Produced in the same form, with same advantages as standed extruded sheet,
but impact strength is enhanced through resin characteristics.
Dimensional Tolerances - Standard sizes or production cut sizes:- 0mm = 10mm
Colour Specifications - Colour, shade and light transmission matched to
standard thickness references of sheets and will vary according to sheet thickness
Weights - Dependent on grade, EI has specific gravity between 1.15 and 1.17
EI 60 SG = 1.15......EI 60 SG = 1.16......EI 60 SG = 1.17
To calculate sheet weight, multiply square metre area by mms thickness and then
by specific gravity.
Weight (in kg) = area (sq mtrs) x thickness (mm) x specific gravity. |
